BANANA MOUNTAIN CAMPS
"It is the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) that those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed." Charles Darwin
Our camps bring together unschooling families and teenagers from around the world to share ideas, inspire and be inspired, and be together. Our motivations in organising camps are to bring together interesting people, to create space and conditions for emergent processes, and to raise funds for our amazing day-to-day learning community.
At our camps we apply the skills developed over many years nurturing co-created democratic learning communities to facilitate joyful, fruitful, co-creative processes. More important than any technique or skill is our deep trust, based on years of experience, in the capacity of co-creation to produce experiences and outcomes more interesting and wonderful than anything any individual or group could plan.
If your family are unschoolers who find the idea of open ended co-creation in a rich environment as exciting as we do, who want to connect with like minded people in a very special setting, and who want to experience our world and our work first hand, our camps are for you.
Hiking, board games, swimming in the river, sports, ceramics, painting, printing, hacking, building with natural materials, philosophy, origami, improvisation, theatre, making music, making films, making books, making a shared world; anything could happen if we make it happen together!
We are currently planning family and teen camps for Spring / Summer 2025. To stay updated join the camp mailing list below, or send a message to camp@bananamountain.world expressing your interest.
